The model year 1976 was bringing in a new aera for the Porsche 911 models. It was the first year that Porsche produced the chassis with fully galvanized exterior body panels. Also new in the ordering program from Porsche was a tire combination with 50 series tires. The costomer demand for this option was so high that it outstripped at times the capacity of the tire suppliers.
