CONDITION
This 911S underwent extensive refurbishment in our workshop for the last time in 2020. At that time, various axle wear parts, such as shock absorbers, brake discs and pads, the master brake cylinder, and much more, were replaced. In addition, the car received a major service with valve clearance adjustment and an overhaul of the ignition system. Since then, this 911S Coupé has been driven very rarely as part of a collection. Another service will be carried out before it is handed over to its new owner.
The body of this 911S is in good condition; the vehicle has been repainted once in its original color. The trunk and engine compartment still have their original paint. The engine and transmission are "matching numbers."
MODEL HISTORY
The 1976 Porsche Signature 911S was a special model limited to 200 units for the US market, 100 coupes and 100 Targas, dedicated to Ferry Porsche.
Its most distinctive feature is the exclusively developed platinum diamond metallic paint (944-9-3), which was also used on the 15-inch ATS "chop knife" rims. The Signature 911S completely dispensed with chrome and instead featured black anodized trim strips.
Inside, the model featured a specially designed tweed interior, a wooden gear knob with the Porsche crest, and Ferry Porsche's original signature on the steering wheel impact absorber.
The Signature was powered exclusively by the 911S engine variant with 2.7 liters, 165 hp, and 235 Nm, combined with a five-speed transmission. The low curb weight of 1,120 kg ensures the characteristic light, responsive driving dynamics. The brake booster installed in 1975 contributed to improved everyday usability.
This makes the Signature 911S one of the rarest and most stylistically striking special models of the G model era.
VEHICLE HISTORY
Like all vehicles in the series, this 911S Ferry Signature Coupé was first delivered to the USA. There, the 911 was driven in the state of Georgia and was purchased by its last US owner in 2003. He then sold the coupé to us in 2015, and the car subsequently returned to Germany. Once there, it was finally prepared and serviced in our workshop for operation in Germany. It then remained part of our own vehicle exhibition for a short time and was also featured in an article in Porschfahrer magazine. Since 2020, this coupé has been part of an extensive Porsche collection in southern Germany – now we are able to offer this coupé for sale again on behalf of our customer.
HANDOVER
This coupé is being sold on behalf of the customer with a new TÜV certificate, completed H-approval, and a current valuation report for classic car insurance.
