1978 Porsche 911 SC Targa
125k miles, Full Restoration – Over £50K Spent! Rare Colour
A beautifully finished and highly usable example of the classic air cooled 911 Targa, presented in a rare and striking period colour combination. This 1978 Porsche 911 SC Targa has covered 125,000 miles and benefits from an extensive body restoration, with close to £50,000 recently invested. Between 2020 and 2023 the car underwent a comprehensive restoration by Jentree Classic Cars in East Sussex. The work included a full strip down to a bare shell, with all corrosion professionally addressed in the usual problem areas, including the kidney bowls. The car was then repainted in its original Light Green Metallic and carefully reassembled. The quality of the paintwork and panel fit is excellent throughout. During the restoration, the suspension was fully refurbished, and the braking system renewed with refurbished calipers, new discs and pads. While the engine was removed, a new clutch was fitted along with new oil lines, new brake hoses and a major service. The total cost of this work was just under £50,000. The 915 gearbox was rebuilt in 2018 and continues to perform exactly as it should.
