The 2.2 litre engine, although not original to the car has received a top end rebuild in 2013, including new valves, valve seats recut, rocker shafts & rockers, cylinder head overhauled and new spark plugs, plug lead set, distributor cap fitted. At this time a cylinder leakage and compression check was carried out with good results. The pistons had been replaced previously and on inspection it was also found that a re-ground camshaft is installed. The Zenith carbs have been rebuilt, balanced and are set up well. The car has been fitted with period RS style bucket seats and door cards. The correct 901 gearbox works as it should and the car also benefits from fully rebuilt brakes all round, MSD ignition system, stainless exhaust, polished 16″ Fuchs with matching Yokohama tyres on each corner. A four wheel alignment has been carried out and the car has been on the rolling roll, producing 128 bhp. Since restoration the car has been in regular use and is no trailer queen, with this in mind there are now some imperfections showing in the paint although structurally the car is solid. Unfortunately the car lacks much past service history with really only the recent expenditure documented. That said, this would be a fantastic base from which to further a hotrod style build, or simply enjoy it as is. Priced competitively considering the extent of the work that has been carried out.
