Porsche 911 T Targa (1972) - Oil flap, Matching numbers, honest driving experience
For sale is our 911 T Targa, model year 1972 - the famous "oil flap year". It was delivered by Porsche Raffay in Hamburg, in the original color light ivory, which it still wears today.
It is fitted with the original 2.4 T engine with Zenith carburetors and Matching numbers. According to the data sheet, it delivers 130 hp - in reality, the finely tuned carburetors and the open K&N air filters make it feel much livelier. The Dansk sports exhaust rounds off the whole thing acoustically - throaty, but never intrusive. The 4-speed gearbox fits the character of the car well: direct, honest, mechanical.
The vehicle was partially restored a good 30 years ago. The work is documented by invoices, and the car is still in good condition today - technically and visually in a solid, honest condition. The original air filter box is present.
Inside, it is fitted with Pepita BF Torino Le Mans seats, with the rest in classic black. The combination fits perfectly with the overall look - sporty but unaffected.
The odometer no longer works, so we can't give an exact mileage. What we can say: We drove the car on several rallies - and it never let us down. Started in the morning, ran all day, never broke down.
It has a fresh MOT and H registration.
We are selling it with a heavy heart because another '72 project is already in the pipeline - and this car deserves to be driven regularly.
