For 1978 the Porsche 911 Type 930 Turbo’s air-cooled flat-six engine was enlarged to 3.3 litres, gaining an inter-cooler in the process; power increased to 300bhp and the top speed of what was the fastest-accelerating road car of its day went up to 160mph (257km/h). Refined over the years while retaining its high performance edge, the 930 Turbo sold in the thousands, becoming the definitive sports car of its age. When Porsche revealed that the original Type 930 would be replaced by the new Type 964 in 1990, dealer stocks of the existing Turbo model sold out overnight.
Finished in Marine Blue Metallic with a full leather interior in white, the latter in good condition, this late 930 Turbo is car is well equipped and comes with, among other thing : black-painted Fuchs wheels; rear windscreen wiper; electric seats; electric windows; leather dashboard; central locking; and air conditioning. Purchased by the current owner nearly 20 years ago, the car is in good overall condition. Accompanying documents include a French Carte Grise; a valid French Contrôle Technique, a file of invoices; an owner’s manual; and the service booklet. At time of cataloguing the odometer reading was 72,289 kilometres.
