Purchased in 2016 from European Collectibles, this 912 was a solid & rust-free example with original floor pans and front suspension. A turnkey driver needing some work but very complete. After the purchase it was meticulously maintained mechanically, including an engine-out service, the Solex carburetors rebuilt and a new sound deadener was installed. After the mechanical work was done in 2017 the next step was the cosmetic restoration, the 912 was completely taken apart and was taken down to the original paint. The entire car was repainted in the original color Bahama Yellow. The original interior was left untouched to retain its originality. The exception was a new headliner and the original front seats had new seat bottom and seat back cushions installed. The original clock was rebuilt, new Coco mats & new front trunk carpet was installed. The Fuch alloy rims were reconditioned to factory spec. This is an extremely clean and rust-free 912 with all new rubber seals and trim. One of the nicest, road ready, matching numbers Porsche 912’s you will find. Truly, a great 912 in a stunning color combination.

History
As production of the 356-model concluded in late 1965, Porsche officially began production of the 912 Coupe. Styling, performance, quality construction, reliability, and price made the 912 a very attractive buy to both new and old customers, and it substantially outsold the 911 during the first few years of production. Porsche produced nearly 30,000 912 units.
1968 Porsche updated the 912 with a unique interior featuring black and white gauges, a padded dash, and doors with integrated door pockets and armrests. This gave the 912 the same interior that the 911 enjoyed. Other 68 only features included side reflectors and for the first time, an exhaust emissions system that required an external belt-driven pump.
