There are some Porsches you admire, and others you only truly understand once behind the wheel. The 914/6 clearly belongs to the latter category. Long set apart within Porsche’s production, it is now being rediscovered for what it truly is: a machine built for pure driving sensations, designed around balance and lightness.

Born from the collaboration between Porsche and Volkswagen, the 914/6 brings together the best of both worlds. A modern mid-engine layout combined with the flat-six derived from the 911, resulting in a package of remarkable coherence. The outcome is a car that feels incredibly alive, precise, and almost instinctive.

The example we are offering today perfectly embodies this philosophy. Produced in January 1972, it is among the final cars assembled, and notably the 52nd 914/6 built for that model year. Presented in its original configuration, its “Tangerine Orange” finish gives it a unique, almost radiant presence, emblematic of early 1970s Porsche, while the black interior elegantly highlights the 914’s sharp, minimalist lines.

This particular car underwent a complete restoration in 2016, carried out to an exceptionally high standard. The car was stripped down entirely, allowing for a thorough structural overhaul and proper treatment of known sensitive areas. The longitudinals and critical components were replaced, the chassis protected, and the car refinished in its original color.

The interior was fully restored in keeping with its original specification, while the mechanical components, including engine, gearbox, and running gear, were comprehensively overhauled. Since completion, the car has covered approximately 5.000 kilometers, confirming the quality of the work performed.

Prior to sale, a major service will be carried out to ensure the car is ready to be enjoyed in the very best conditions.

The 914/6 is not a Porsche like any other. More subtle, more refined, and also more demanding—this is precisely what makes it so compelling today. With just over 3.000 units produced, it has firmly established itself as a connoisseur’s choice.
