About the original Porsche 924 Polizei
In the late 1970s, a very limited number of Porsche 924s were actually used by the German Autobahnpolizei. While never mass-produced for police duty, these cars were selected for specific highway patrol tasks thanks to their lightweight design, solid handling, and respectable 125 hp performance.
These 924s were usually painted in Grand Prix White with green striping, and fitted with a blue light, sirens, and the famous “BITTE FOLGEN” rear sign. Some were equipped with radios, stop paddles, and communication systems depending on the region and assignment.
Today, original Polizei 924s are extremely rare and seldom seen even in collections or museums. That makes a tribute like this one not just fun, but also a nod to a quirky and almost forgotten part of Porsche history.
