Porsche 928

The Porsche 928 presents itself in a beautiful shade of white. The paintwork has largely been retained in its original form, only the front area and the right-hand side of the vehicle had to be renewed. There is slight damage to the paintwork on the trunk lid, but no dents, dents or corrosion were found during the inspection. No modifications have been made to the body since it went into service, only the right-hand exterior mirror was added later to increase safety.
Original Porsche alloy wheels in the typical dial design are mounted on the vehicle, giving the sports car a high degree of authenticity. Falken Ziex tires are used for locomotion, which, like the brakes, are in good to very good condition. No changes were made to the chassis and its components, but wearing parts were consistently replaced in order to maintain optimal roadworthiness.
The well-known Pascha design was used to design the interior, in which a black and white checkerboard pattern sets refreshing contrasts. It was used for the seats of the leather armchairs and was also used to design the interior door panels. In both areas, it harmonises with subtle shades of gray that dominate the entire cockpit. The instruments in the driver's area shine in a classic black, which was also used for the design of various control elements. The equipment in the Porsche 928 includes electric windows and central locking, in addition, automatic air conditioning and a radio ensure pleasant travel comfort. The elegant Grand Turismo has been used intensively over the past decades, so that some signs of wear can be seen, especially on the furniture.
The Porsche 928 has covered a total of almost 200,000 kilometers since it was put into service, which can be read on the one hand on the speedometer disc and on the other hand can be proven by the complete documentation in the checkbook. All instruments in the vehicle are fully functional, and no restrictions or failures were found when the displays were checked.
The dynamic Porsche 928 has a powerful eight-cylinder V-engine with a displacement of 4.5 liters and an output of 240 hp (176 KW). The sports car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 230 km/h, using a manual five-speed gearbox for translation. The last service on the Porsche 928 was carried out in October 2022, and no defects were found on the engine or the technology. The underbody is cavity-sealed and largely rust-free, only slight traces of corrosion can be found on the exhaust system.
All necessary repairs were carried out promptly in the past and the functionality of the vehicle was guaranteed as part of regular services. The intervals should also be observed in the future in order to avoid urgent visits to the workshop and to contribute to the longevity of the historic sports car.
The Porsche 928 was developed in the mid-1970s and was originally intended to replace the famous 911 as a premium model. However, the difference between the two sports cars meant that both vehicles were produced in parallel. The new development, with its body designed as a grand turismo, closed a gap in the market and met the needs of those customers who wanted more space and comfort. With its modern design, the Porsche 928 immediately attracted a large fan base and in 1978 was the first sports car to be voted the European "Car of the Year". The white Grand Turismo offered in this auction is a real pioneer of this successful model series and therefore a real rarity with great collector's value.
