"Maraschino Red Metallic" – that's the name of the original manufacturer's paint color with the paint code LY3V of the Porsche 944 Turbo: According to the expert opinion, a smaller area was repainted on the left rear, otherwise no repainting is known of according to the seller. Because the paintwork of the 944 is now more than 30 years old, there are also various signs of wear, paint chips and stone chips on the body of the Turbo. Stone chips can be seen mainly on the front apron and on the bonnet, there are paint chips on the lower wheel arch on the passenger side towards the front bumper and, among other things, on the edge of the door at the level of the passenger door handle. The front bumper to the right of the turn signal glass shows a larger abrasion. It is also noticeable that some of the side protection strips are already cracked. Otherwise, the paint is in an age-appropriate condition, according to the seller, an accident can be ruled out, there are no modifications to the exterior.
So-called Porsche telephone rims are mounted on the Porsche in extremely good condition. Tires from the Michelin brand with 1/3 residual tread are mounted on the aluminum rims, and there are apparently no complaints about the brakes. Koni shock absorbers, which are adjustable in hardness, are installed in the chassis.
A mixture of beige and black can be seen in the interior of the Porsche 944 Turbo: The black full leather seats are still sufficiently upholstered and only show a slight patina, the left side bolster on the driver's seat is a little scuffed. Cracks can be seen on the windscreen ventilation slots on the dashboard, the digital clock shows pixel errors and the four-spoke airbag steering wheel shows a few signs of wear, as does the gear knob. Overall, the interior of the Porsche is in slightly used but well-kept condition. After decoding the equipment codes, the following options result, among others: limited slip differential 40%, rear window wiper, cruise control, alarm system, a radio SQR46 DAB in a contemporary design and a removable Targa roof can be found as additional equipment options in the Porsche 944 Turbo.
The odometer reads 126,000 miles, which would correspond to a mileage of just over 200,000 kilometers. A partially maintained original Porsche checkbook is available, there are still some documents for the 944 and there is a list in which all repairs from 1994 to the present are noted. Except for an occasional non-functioning cruise control, all switches, levers and instruments in the interior work without any problems.
The 2.5-liter turbo engine of the Porsche 944 delivers 220 hp. The engine is connected to the 5-speed gearbox on the rear axle via a transaxle shaft. There are no defects in the drive train. A last extensive service with a new cylinder head gasket, manifold, air conditioning compressor and much more was carried out in September 2021. A timing belt change took place in May 2019 at 115,000 miles.
Despite the advanced mileage, the underbody can be attested to be in a very healthy condition, apart from a rust film, there are no badly affected areas.
