About the model:
Based on the new Carrera 2 he 1994 Speedster was designed to be a more focused “driver’s car” and in reality served as a hybrid between a 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet and a 964 RS.
The Speedster name has a long and illustrious history in the pantheon of Porsche. Since the 356 of the 1960s, the Speedster badge signified a gloriously fast, top-down driving experience that can’t be matched. With owners like Steve McQueen the name carried weight and panache.
The “secret” of the 964 Speedster was the combination of light weight, interesting design, great handling, well-known Porsche quality and all of this powered along by the new 3.6-liter Porsche boxer-engine.
