Model history

  • From April 1993, customers were offered the 968 turbo S, which was produced in a small series. The vehicle, built exclusively by hand in the racing department in Weissach, was the road version of the 968 turbo RS developed for the ADAC-GT racing series and was marketed directly by the customer racing department. The basis is a 968 CS, always without a targa roof. The engine's fuselage (crankcase, including crankshaft) remained, but was then adapted to an 8V cylinder head as well as a charger and intercooler from the 944 Turbo. The front bodywork was reworked and a second oil cooler found its place behind the bumper. The bumper itself was changed to bring more air into the intercooler, the spoiler kit consisting of a front spoiler, adjustable rear wing and Naca in the hood, in addition to the 18 inch speedline, rounded off the transformation in Weissach. The result was 305 hp, and around 350 hp with the 968 turbo RS.
