The naturally aspirated 3.4-liter engine responds strongly from mid-range revs and gains character the higher it is pushed, delivering power in a very linear yet forceful manner once past 4,000–5,000 rpm.
During overtaking or when accelerating out of corners, a press of the throttle results in immediate, decisive forward motion, accompanied by a very present and engaging exhaust note that amplifies the sensation of performance.

Jordi’s opinion:On the road, the 981 Cayman GTS feels like a highly precise sports car that is still easy to drive quickly. The chassis is beautifully balanced: it goes exactly where you point the steering wheel and remains extremely composed even at a brisk pace, with progressive, predictable reactions. The overall impression is of a very “refined” car — quick and communicative steering, flat body control and a high level of confidence that allows you to push harder and harder without intimidation. Best of all, it offers great versatility without the harshness of an extreme Clubsport setup.
