The Porsche 991 GT2 RS
The GT2 RS is one of the most desirable 911 variants ever made, especially when specified with the hugely desirable Weissach Package. With an official Nurburgring production car lap record of 6 minutes 47.3 seconds; the GT2 RS is not only a proven track tool, but the pinnacle of the 911 family being the most powerful example ever built. The 3.8L engine produces 690 bhp, an huge 138 bhp increase over the 991 Turbo S, thanks to new larger turbochargers, a less restrictive flowing titanium exhaust system and more aggressive mapping and boost pressures. For regular driving on the road, the car is noted for its docility and ease of use, although once on track, the model’s credentials need no introduction. This model reaches a top speed of 211 mph and covers the 0-60 mph sprint in 2.9 seconds.
The Weissach Pack
The Weissach Package is all about weight saving with features such as magnesium wheels, key carbon fibre components such as the roof and a titanium roll cage, with the added benefits of safety and chassis stiffness. The full carbon fibre bucket 918 Spyder seats and six-point racing harnesses provide suitable restraints to combat the high levels of cornering G-force. The Weissach package was a £21,042 option when this car was specified new and provides a 30kg weight saving over a standard model.
