2018 Porsche 911 GT3

Delivered to its first and only owner in 2018, this 991.2-generation Porsche 911 GT3 is no ordinary example. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur was heavily involved in the 18-month production, including six months of color feasibility testing. The result is certainly one of the most unique and highest-optioned GT3s ever produced. With a starting price of $143,600, this 991.2 GT3 boasts almost $100,000 in additional options, bringing the total MSRP to $231,365. Options include $33,875 alone in Custom Tailoring options (Special Wishes), paint-to-sample custom non-metallic Arrow Blue ($12,830), PCCBs ($9,210), fully customized bucket seats ($8,875) and door panels ($8,630), Chalk-colored wheels ($4,750), and much more.

The vehicle in detail

  • Unique paint-to-sample non-metallic Arrow Blue
  • Extensively optioned, including numerous Porsche Exclusive touches
  • Desirable six-speed GT Sport manual transmission
  • Offered from its original owner; less than 2,000 miles from new
  • Truly a one-off specification; original MSRP of $231,365
  • Please note this lot will need to be collected from Houston, Texas

The Special Wishes options were in close collaboration with Porsche Exclusive and truly set the car apart. Examples of these unique touches include upholstery in Chalk leather and extensive Chalk deviated stitching, carbon-fiber shifter (from the 911 R), the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 racing stripe, RS-style door pull release rather than the standard door release handle (an Exclusive option that the owner requested Porsche to consider—and was granted), and doorsills illuminated with signatures of Andreas Preuninger (head of the Porsche GT department) and Ferdinand Porsche himself (along with his famous “I couldn’t find a sports car of my dreams, so I built one myself” quote). A full options list and specification is available on file for review.

The 991.2 generation of Porsche’s GT3 brought about a number of welcome changes over its predecessor. Porsche heard the cries of the marque’s faithful, and rather than offer the PDK transmission as the only option, a manual gearbox was made available as a no-cost option. This example is specified with MTYP/Option code 486, the six-speed GT Sport manual transmission. The 991.2’s new 4.0-liter engine was derived from the GT3 Cup cars and produces 500 bhp to match the output of the 991.1 GT3 RS, thanks in part to a new crankshaft and valve gear. Slightly revised aerodynamics, including an all-new diffuser, means that the downforce produced equals that of the 997-generation GT3 RS. Further increasing its track-day credentials are active engine mounts, rear-axle steering, and a limited-slip differential, all offered as standard equipment.

Since leaving Porsche’s facilities in Stuttgart, the GT3 has traveled just under 2,000 miles from new and presents in excellent condition both inside and out. Furthermore, the car is protected with a full PPF. Of the modern crop of Porsche GT cars, those boasting paint-to-sample color schemes have proven to be the most desirable. With an attractive historic Arrow Blue color and stripe hearkening to the legendary 997 RS 4.0, there is no doubt that this would be an incredible car to drive and enjoy, boasting an enviable host of options that add to its overall driving experience, namely its manual gearbox. This GT3 was displayed for six months in the Porsche Experience Center gallery at the North American headquarters, where the owner collected a number of signatures under the hood from Porsche Classic manager Ray Shaffer, PCNA president Klaus Zellmer, and the legendary Carrera GT designer Tony Hatter.
