Equipment and options
As standard, a Carrera S is more equipped than a basic Carrera. For this generation, for example, that meant dual exhaust pipes made of brushed stainless steel and PASM as standard. Thanks to this Porsche Active Suspension Management, driving behavior has been significantly improved. This car also features the optional Sport Chrono Package and dynamic engine mounts. There is also Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), which, in conjunction with the optional PDK, ensures more traction and driving stability. The brakes of the 911 Carrera S have monoblock (red) fixed calipers at the front with 6 instead of 4 pistons – for shorter braking distances.
In addition, this S is optionally equipped with the X51 performance upgrade, a sports exhaust, sports seats, a 030 sports suspension, cruise control, 20-inch sports techno wheels, rain sensor and a sunroof. 991.1 vs. 991.2
When it comes to design, choosing between the 991 and the 991.2 is a matter of taste. The visual changes are minor, and although the 991.2 looks a touch more aggressive thanks to the new bumper, some will prefer the pre-facelift model. The performance data generally speaks in favor of the 991.2, as it is ultimately more powerful and faster than its predecessor. However, with the X51 power kit, this is no longer the case. Added to this is the sound and feel of rotation of an atmospheric engine that exceeds the imagination of many purists. The responsiveness and exhilarating growl of an atmospheric engine remain unique
