The Porsche 911 (992.1) Turbo S Convertible

The 992.1 Turbo S Cabrio is the top-of-the-range open-top version of the 911 series prior to the facelift and is therefore the last non-hybrid Turbo. It is based on the eighth generation of the 911, which has been in production since 2019, while the Turbo S was unveiled in spring 2020. Even visually, the model clearly stands out from the Carrera variants. The body is wider, the rear fenders are powerful, and the active aerodynamic elements, such as the variable front spoiler and the extendable rear wing, are consistently designed for downforce and stability at high speeds. Also typical of the Turbo S are the large air intakes in the rear, which supply the intercoolers and the engine with more fresh air. At the heart of the car is a 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with two turbochargers. In the Turbo S version, it delivers 650 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted exclusively by an eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission, coupled with permanent all-wheel drive. The interplay between the engine, transmission, and traction ensures that the convertible accelerates almost at coupe level despite the additional weight of the soft top mechanism. Porsche claims 0 to 100 kph in 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 330 kph. This makes the model one of the fastest convertibles ever.

The chassis is a mixture of comfort and sharp precision. Adaptive dampers, rear-axle steering, and active roll stabilization are standard features. These systems keep the car stable and neutral even at very high lateral acceleration, while remaining comfortable on the highway or long distances. The soft top opens and closes electrohydraulically in around twelve seconds and can also be operated while driving at speeds of up to approximately 50 kph. When closed, it is well insulated, making the Turbo S a true all-season vehicle. Inside, the 992.1 follows the modern Porsche line with a central tachometer, large infotainment system, and high-quality materials. Despite its clear sports car orientation, the convertible offers two emergency seats in the rear, which often serve as additional storage space in everyday use. A characteristic feature of the 992.1 Turbo S Convertible is the apparent ease with which it combines contrasting requirements. It is brutally fast, but not nervous. It is luxuriously equipped, but not cumbersome. In addition, as a convertible, it offers a very intense driving experience without sacrificing the long-distance qualities typical of the Turbo. Overall, the model is considered one of the most complete 911s because it works across all scenarios, from fast Alpine passes to long highway trips, always delivering the confident, effortlessly powerful Turbo S feeling.

The history of this convertible began on November 3, 2022, with an offer from the Porsche Center in Zug to the first and, to date, only owner of the vehicle. The offer, with its extensive configuration, resulted in a new price of €342,000 net. After a long wait, the car was completed on April 22, 2024, in the special color pine green metallic with truffle brown leather. Following the sales inspection on May 14, the first delivery to the Swiss-based collector finally took place on May 24, 2025. A few days later, on June 20, 2024, the collector registered the 911 for the first time. Despite perfect conditions, he decided to store the vehicle in his impressive collection without ever driving it, which is why it still has the mileage of the sales inspection, 25 km.
