Mechatronik

THE COMPANY

Since its founding in 1997, Mechatronik GmbH has established itself as one of the internationally best-known specialist companies for Mercedes-Benz classics, growing solidly while maintaining consistently high quality standards. Success proved and proves us right. Mechatronik GmbH grew from a three-man workshop in Großbottwar, Swabia, to a globally operating company based in Pleidelsheim, north of Stuttgart. And yet, despite all the changes that have occurred since the company was founded, the philosophy and the demand we place on ourselves to create the best have remained unchanged. Our team of over 40 employees have access to modern, well-equipped workshop space that is optimized for the relevant requirements on over 6,000 square meters. A team made up of a healthy mix of experienced experts with decades of experience and highly qualified young talent. In order to ensure that we retain this know-how in the company in the future and pass it on to the next generation, we at Mechatronics traditionally train the next generation ourselves. From repair and maintenance work, partial or full restorations, technical conversions or prototype construction to vehicle trading, all activities are carried out under one roof at Mechatronics. Always with the aim of offering the customer something unique through perfection in our work and the passion of our employees.

About us

The Management of Mechatronik

The founder and sole shareholder of Mechatronik, Dipl.-Ing. Frank Rickert, has been passionately taking apart nearly every mechanical and electrical device since he was 4 years old, only to reassemble them in a new and “optimized” way. At age 15, he carried the parts of an old Kreidler Florett in plastic bags into his bedroom and pieced the disassembled moped back together.

After completing his apprenticeship at AMG and earning his vocational diploma, Frank Rickert studied automotive engineering at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences (FHTE). He attended lectures in the mornings and studied until midnight. The rest of his time was spent in the workshop. While still a student, he founded Mechatronik GbR as early as 1996. He successfully completed his studies in 2001. In less than two decades, Frank Rickert and his team succeeded in making a striking mark on the Mechatronik brand, driving rapid growth, and—even more importantly—establishing the company in a demanding market.
