The vehicle in detail

Introduced to replace the 993-generation GT2, the 996 GT2 was built in the same vein as its predecessor, offering the maximum level of performance that Porsche could extract from its current generation 911. Entering production in 2001, the GT2’s modified lighter body shell and 462 brake-horsepower 3.6-litre engine propelled it to 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds.
Although not commonly known, Porsche introduced a “MkII” version of the 996 GT2 in 2003 . While no body modifications were made, engineers managed to squeeze even more power from the flat-six engine, bringing the final figure to 483 brake-horsepower. These variants specified with the Clubsport package received features not previously available, including an exposed carbon fibre rear wing, updated suspension, special alloy wheels, as well as carbon-look mirrors and radiator surrounds. Porsche did not openly advertise this model, and as such it became something of an ‘insider’ car; just 16 996 GT2 MkII Clubsports were built, making it the rarest GT2 model produced.

This Porsche 911 GT2 MkII Clubsport was built in March 2004, and ordered by the Managing Director of Porsche Wendecar in Varese, Italy. Itwas one of the two Black on Black examples built, and the only one specified with body-coloured wheels and rear centre console. Further adding to the car’s fantastic specification were the optional stainless steel exhaust pipes, carbon door sills, and aluminium instrument dials.
This example has just four previous enthusiastic owners, and was last serviced at Porsche Zentrum Inntal at 29,604 kilometres. Today, the odometer reads 29,716 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, and is accompanied by invoices dating back to 2004, its Porsche manuals, tools, and even spare keys.
For Porsche afficionados in the know, this exceedingly rare MkII 996 GT2 Clubsport presents a tempting opportunity to add a one-of-one Porsche to their collection.
