This 2002 Porsche 996 Turbo is finished in Arctic Silver and shows 122,249 miles at the time of writing. It has been under the care of 3 owners and has lived in the greater Seattle area since new. Although the car’s mileage is on the higher end, a comprehensive service history goes to show that the car has been carefully serviced, with the seller completing a long list of preventative maintenance under his care. During his three-year ownership, items like the idler pulley, thermostat, water pump, brakes, clutch slave cylinder/release bearing and rear stabilizer bar were all replaced in addition to frequent standard oil services. As it sits now, the car is mechanically solid and pulls as hard as other 996 Turbos we’ve driven with less than half the miles.
The interior is finished in black leather with “draped” leather on the seats. From the factory, the car was fitted with heated seats, a Porsche 6-disc CD changer, and the desirable Aluminum Look finish on the instrument dials, handbrake and shifter. These, along with the leather wrapped dashboard and perfectly sized 3-spoke steering wheel make the 996 interior feel truly luxurious and a really nice place to wrack up the miles.
In the back, the 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged flat 6 produces 415 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque which is available from just 2,700 rpm. As you wind the car out, it pulls harder as you approach the redline, and every time you shift the 6-speed manual gearbox, the acceleration feels even stronger in the next gear. Within the last 12 months, this Turbo has received an air conditioning recharge, full suspension check, and a new fuel pump – all from respected independent shops in the Pacific Northwest. If you are looking for a thrilling Porsche with supercar performance and every day usability, this 996 is a perfect choice.
