The 997.2 Carrera 4S is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with direct fuel injection. The engine delivers 385 pk and 420 Nm of torque and is paired with the lightning-fast 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) and permanent all-wheel drive.

Thanks to this combination, the Carrera 4S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds (with Sport Chrono Launch Control) and has a top speed of 295 km/h. The 997.2 is considered by many enthusiasts to be one of the most successful 911 generations: compact, analog where possible, and modern where necessary. Combined with the reliable DFI engine—which avoids the IMS bearing issues—this generation ranks among the most sought-after modern classic 911s.
