The 997 GTS is considered the high-water mark for water-cooled 911s, offering a rear-wheel drive experience in a wide-body package, and in this case with a manual gearbox for even more driver-integration. These cars benefitted from numerous little tweaks over the standard “S” variant, and they prove to be far more than the sum of their parts when driven on any roads in any conditions. Manual GTSs are few and far between with less than 100 registered to the UK market, and have therefore already been established by many as the 997 Carrera model to watch going forward.
