Porsche has associated the term 'Spyder' with driving pleasure, lightweight construction and motorsport DNA since the 1950s. This is also the case with the Boxster Spyder, which was launched in 2010 and embodies the purist version of the 987 model series. Powered by a 3.4-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with 320 hp, the Spyder still delivers impressive performance today: from 0 to 100 kph in just 5.0 seconds, a top speed of 265 kph with the top down.
With a limited production number (... the figures given differ; our research has shown that, according to the Porsche archives, 1,944 Spyders of the 987 series were built. We are happy to be corrected), the Boxster Spyder is a real collector's item for many. Its minimalist equipment, the manually operated lightweight fabric soft top and the characteristic design features such as the distinctive "double bubble" make it unmistakable.
Specifically, the car we are offering:
The roadster was first delivered in the fall of 2010 not far from us, more precisely: at the Porsche Center Schwäbisch Gmünd. The first owner enjoyed the 987 for two summers and sold it in July 2012 - with a mileage of 13,401 km - to a gentleman who knows what's good. As already mentioned above, the Spyder is not only a sought-after driving car due to its limited number, but also an equally sought-after rarity. From then on, the black and black car enriched the fleet of a well-known collector.
In 2020, this second owner decided to sell the Spyder after all. The car was not registered to him, nor did he drive it. It was 'only' in the very best company with him and was given a complete technical refresh to say goodbye. A major inspection at the Porsche Center Salzburg in September 2020 later - with virtually unchanged mileage, namely exactly 13,406 km - the current owner took the opportunity, acquired the Spyder, registered it directly to himself in spring 2021 (one German letter, two registered owners) and has enjoyed four summers or a strong 4,000 km to date.
The maintenance in detail:
08.2012 13,401 km intermediate maintenance at PZ Schwäbisch Gmünd
09.2020 13,406 km major maintenance incl. spark plug change, drive belt and transmission oil at the Salzburg service center
06.2022 17,282 km intermediate maintenance at Stuttgart service center
The Spyder is 'full matching'. The documentation for the car is available to us in full and without gaps - including the on-board folder and supplementary price lists.
The Boxster was fitted with new tires just a few kilometers ago. Now it will receive a technical inspection and a current HU/ AU from us before handover, then it will be more than ready for driving fun in 2025 - and many, many more years 🙂
With our best recommendations for this Spyder - and more photos coming soon 🙂
