And precisely the starting point was important. Namely, the 911SC was a car that did not immediately appeal to the market, so there was plenty of room for improvement. The engine went from 3 to 3.2 liters and from 180hp to 215hp while RUF managed to improve fuel consumption thanks to a Bosch fuel system. 0-100 was completed a full second faster than the apparently tired 911SC thanks both to the engine but also to the new Bilstein chassis and the refined gearbox. Exterior-wise, the car got a completely unique look with the help of new bumpers, forward to make room for the oil cooler. The wing was lifted from 930. The years that followed made RUF history by following up with models that came to set records around the world. But SCR can be seen as the starting point. This car was built directly by RUF in 1980, a journey that very few cars were allowed to make. The car was allowed to retain its white colour, but immediately gives a different impression. You get the impression of a 911 turned up to 11.
