PORSCHE 911 RUF SCR 3.2 for sale!

We love Porsche and all the history surrounding the brand. Everything from 912 to 918. And part of the Zuffenhausen (and Pfaffenhausen) history that we have extra fondness for is of course the RUF. What in the mid-70s transitioned from a hobby and a service workshop to what we know today as RUF and one of the most recognizable names in the Porsche circle. In 1975, they started refining Porsche cars, and where do you start then? At the top of course, 930. An increased engine volume gave the car just over 300hp. A train Porsche itself jumped on just a few years later when they themselves updated the car with a 3.3l engine and 300hp. The next car Alois Ruf Jr.’s took on turned out to be hugely important to the company’s future. Based around the new-to-the-market 911SC, the car was created which was named SCR, a rather logical name 911 SC…R for RUF.

The vehicle in detail

And precisely the starting point was important. Namely, the 911SC was a car that did not immediately appeal to the market, so there was plenty of room for improvement. The engine went from 3 to 3.2 liters and from 180hp to 215hp while RUF managed to improve fuel consumption thanks to a Bosch fuel system. 0-100 was completed a full second faster than the apparently tired 911SC thanks both to the engine but also to the new Bilstein chassis and the refined gearbox. Exterior-wise, the car got a completely unique look with the help of new bumpers, forward to make room for the oil cooler. The wing was lifted from 930. The years that followed made RUF history by following up with models that came to set records around the world. But SCR can be seen as the starting point. This car was built directly by RUF in 1980, a journey that very few cars were allowed to make. The car was allowed to retain its white colour, but immediately gives a different impression. You get the impression of a 911 turned up to 11. Which is quite true. To the untrained eye, the emblems behind the only thing that gives a hint of the truth. The interior offers a grey-black leather interior with Recaro sports seats (Porsche sports seats have been retrofitted but both sets are included with the car.) and Becker radio. This is recognizable from a “regular” 911. In front of you you have a 3-spoke steering wheel with a printed RUF logo and behind five RUF specific gauges. Just over 13,000 miles have been completed and three users called since the car left Alois Ruf Jr and the car is in an outstanding condition, both mechanically and optically. A sheet from Porsche’s history that rarely or never comes to the market but which we at Garage-11 are now enormously proud to be able to offer. Of course, books and documentation as well as certificates from RUF regarding authenticity.
