The Porsche 911 Book – René Staud
The launch of the Porsche 901 at the IAA in 1963 marked a milestone in automotive history. The name still had to be changed because Peugeot held the patent on the 0 in the middle of the type designation, but then there was no stopping the 911 on its way to becoming a sports car icon. The success story stretches from the original model to the Carrera RS 2.7, the fastest production car of its time with the characteristic rear spoiler, the so-called “ducktail”, to the current generation.
In his distinctive style, René Staud makes the most important models from the large 911 family shine brightly. The knowledgeable classification in the automotive historical context is provided by author Jürgen Lewandowski.
