Completed at Porsche during 1985, this spectacular Carrera 3.2 Targa was finished just as it appears today, painted in the optional and stylish Silver Metallic (936) with a burgundy interior.

Delivered new in Belgium through D’ieteren, the Carrera has remained in its home country ever since, with a documented chain of ownership. Today just under 115,000 kilometers are recorded on the odometer and are documented by the paperwork and ‘Wartung’ or Manual. Inside and out, the car remains remarkably original and well-preserved, showing only minimal signs of use.

Factory-applied VIN decals are still in place under the hood, along with other original ID plates and labels. As expected from a carefully maintained Porsche, it drives beautifully

This matching-numbers example retains its factory underbody wax protection. The original burgundy upholstery has clearly benefitted from decades of conscientious ownership, showing just the right amount of patina appropriate for its 36 years. A classic Blaupunkt cassette radio is still installed, complete with manual—and even a few period cassettes, in case you’re curious about what was on the airwaves back in the ’80s.

The original yellow round sticker stating the interior passed quality control is still applied under the dash!

Paint meter readings indicate a respray at some point, but with no evidence of body filler or accident damage. The finish is consistent and glossy, with only minor wear from use since the repaint.

The car is offered with its original owner’s manuals in the factory pouch, a period Porsche information leaflet, Blaupunkt documents, the service book, space-saver spare, jack, and tool roll—everything you’d hope to find with a well-kept Carrera 3.2.

Well-preserved examples like this are becoming harder to come by—especially in such a distinctive and desirable color combination.

Starting in 1963 with the original 911, Porsche has produced a line of six-cylinder rear-engine sportscars that could compete with much more powerful cars thanks to their low weight and superior handling. Introduced in 1984, the Carrera 3.2 was the last iteration of the classic 911 before the large changes of the 964. The Carrera 3.2 produced 231 horsepower at 5,900rpm, which was delivered through the desirable Getrag G50 transaxle from the 1987 production year and onwards.

True to Porsche’s reputation, the Carrera 3.2 offered the unique experience of driving pleasure and performance without sacrificing comfort and usability. Due to their robust construction and strong owner’s groups, these 1980s 911s are great cars to be enjoyed and driven.
