1988 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport for sale UK!

An outstanding example of the evergreen late model Carrera 3.2 that has covered just 37,000 miles in the hands of five owners from new. Finished in Grand Prix White with Linen Leather interior, the car was specified with a number of options including electric sports seats, electric sunroof, rear wiper, and a Blaupunkt Toronto hifi unit which it retains to this day. The Carrera was ordered when new from Waldron Porsche, the official main dealer in Maidstone, Kent and was supplied by them following the PDI on the 1st of August 1988 as detailed in the original stamped service book. The car was lightly used from the start – indeed it covered only 5,000 miles in its first year and had only covered 12,000 miles when ten years old. The service stamps and extensive maintenance invoices show just how well each owner has looked after the car.

The last owner purchased the Porsche from a private collection following a detailed inspection by master Porsche Inspector Peter Morgan. His extensive inspection report completed on the 26th of September 2019 concludes that this Carrera was a surprisingly original example with few owners and lots of history that had been well looked after.

This last owner bought the car with 36,000 miles and although using it sparingly he continued to look after it properly with servicing in 2020 and 2021 by respected Porsche specialist Francis Tuthill Ltd.

I purchased the Porsche from this last owner earlier this summer and immediately sent it to Porsche experts RPM Technik for a full evaluation and major service. They were clearly impressed by its condition and originality and we decided the car should be taken as close to perfect as possible. To this end any item requiring attention was addressed as detailed in an invoice on file amounting to about £10,000. An extensive test drive on the car’s return confirmed that this was money well spent, what a great drive it is with the tautness and precision that is unique to a low mileage example that has been perfectly set up.

We have sold many good Carrera 3.2’s over the years but this car really does stand out, taking you straight back to the 1980’s when marque identity was so much stronger, even the smell of the interior is unique to this era of 911. In superb condition in all respects this one comes with all keys, tools and books including the original stamped service book, it has all of its original factory labelling in place and has an extensive history file with maintenance invoices, MOT certificates and correspondence. I had a leather Momo Prototipo steering wheel fitted during the recent work as it so enhances steering feel, however, the original wheel remains with the car.
