This motorsport-derived 4.0-liter unit utilizes forged pistons, titanium connecting rods, and a crankshaft sourced directly from the GT3 RSR race car. It produces a thunderous 500 horsepower with an 8,250 redline and 339 lb-ft of torque and was only offered with a six-speed manual transmission; 0 to 60 mph happens in just 3.8 seconds and 193 mph serves as its top speed.

Weight savings play a crucial role in its dynamic prowess, with a generous use of lightweight materials. Carbon fiber bucket seats, front fenders, and a lightweight luggage compartment lid come standard, along with weight-optimized carpeting, brings its total weight to just 2,998 lbs with a full fuel tank.

A wide track, low stance, and an aggressive rear wing with side plates define its dominant presence, while centrally mounted dual tailpipes and a precision-optimized aerodynamic package ensure optimal efficiency. This was the first production Porsche to feature front dive planesalso known as flicswhich generate additional front-end downforce. When combined with the assertively angled rear wing, these elements work together to create 426 lbs of downforce at its 193 mph top speed, keeping the RS 4.0 firmly planted at high speeds.
