Tribute to a Porsche classic
December 2007, Porsche AG presented this limited Porsche Boxster RS 60 Spyder at the Bologna Motor Show.
In its colour, design, features and philosophy, the Boxster RS 60 Spyder brings Porsche motorsport back to the era of the 1960s: After numerous class victories, the Porsche Type 718 RS 60 Spyder was also able to beat its competitors in the larger engine categories. His first overall victory in 1960 was the world championship of one of the most prestigious endurance races for manufacturers: the 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida. The championship was won with this 718 RS 60 Spyder by Hans Herrmann and Olivier Gendebien.
The front bumper of this special model is taken from Porsche’s SportDesign Package and distinguishes the RS 60 Spyder from the Boxster S.
A modified exhaust system consisting of a combined sports exhaust with dual exhaust increases engine power to 303 hp. This RS 60 Spyder was also as standard equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), which ensures both sporty and comfortable driving pleasure at all times.
Paintwork in GT silver metallic is further accentuated by the contrast with the natural leather interior in Carrera red and the convertible roof was also delivered in red.
As an alternative, there is also a choice of dark gray natural leather and a black roof.
Further noteworthy details are:
Stainless steel moldings proudly bear the model designation ‘RS 60 Spyder’, an extra sporty gear lever, special print in the center sections of the sports seats and the center of the door trim, as well as on the steering wheel rim and handbrake lever, accentuate the sporty and exclusive atmosphere of the interior.
The design of the instrument panels, which are finished in GT silver metallic at the front, is also sporty and dynamic. While otherwise the panel is placed above the instrument panel.
The dashboard with the large central rev counter and the two round dials has a purist design and refers to the looks of the 718 RS 60 racing car.
This special look is further enhanced by other refined features, such as the windshield frame finished in black and red rear light units.
The center console, the rear parts of the backrests and the roll bars are all finished in GT silver metallic and therefore harmonious
perfect with the seat belts which are also finished in silver.
Limited Edition: just 1.960 cars produced
The new Boxster RS 60 Spyder limited to a Special Edition of 1,960 cars (referring to the 718 RS 60 Spyder from 1960).
