For the first time since 1977, the Carrera name was revived in 1983 as a successor to the successful SC series. In the last “911” (after this it became 964) the entire electronics, brakes and chassis were adjusted. Apart from this improvement, the engine block was enlarged to a 3.2 liter with 219 HP. The 3.2 Carrera model of the 911 series was produced from 1983 to 1989.

Ours has a snappy G50 transmission, and really drives like a Porsche should. A matching-numbers car delivered in the rare ‘Leinengrau’, which is really a particularly cool eighties color. Originally the car was delivered in the USA, and in the Netherlands it was always pampered by Porsche specialist Visser, with a neatly stamped booklet as a result.
