Das Fahrzeug im Detail

Paint meter readings and a visual inspection confirm that this 911 received a very thin, windows out repaint in its original factory color. The exterior features fresh rubber seals with original glass, aluminum trim, and brightwork. The upholstery is in excellent condition with the original basket weave on the dash, door panels, and seat inserts. An original steering wheel with a deluxe horn ring sits ahead of the original VDO instrumentation and a factory Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. The front trunk retains its original undercoating with a date coded 7/68 spare wheel and date-coded fuel-sending unit. Refinished 5.5” x 15” Fuch alloy wheels are fitted to Sprint Classic Vredestein 185 70 R15 tires (dated 2021). The undercarriage is original with no signs of any rust.

According to the original Porsche Maintenance Record Booklet this 911E was distributed by Porsche Car Distributors Inc. in Culver City, California and was delivered to the first owner Mr. Talmo on October 11, 1969. The original purchase agreement on file records Chick Iverson Porsche in Newport Beach, California as the selling dealer where it was sold for $8,190.00 MSRP. Dealer performed services by Chick Iverson and Century West are recorded in the Maintenance Booklet from 7,023 to 20,587 miles. By October 24, 1982, the 911E had accrued 87,000 miles and Mr. Talmo commissioned Caram Engineering to perform an engine out reseal, and the cylinder heads were rebuilt. On October 25, 1999, Tommy’s “Verkstad” Porsche/BMW Specialists disassembled the transmission and replaced 1st gear, 1st gear slider, 5 synchros, the intermediate plate bearings, and the transmission was reassembled with new gaskets. In late 2012 the 911 was purchased by Mr. Sougias where he had the vehicle serviced by Charlie’s Foreign Car Service in Encinitas, California. From 2014 to 2020 Charlies Foreign Car Service performed the following work: the fuel Injection pump was rebuilt, cleaned throttle bodies, rebuilt the front and rear calipers, replaced the master cylinder, brake lines, CV boots, repaired the throttle linkage, and fuel lines. Most recently, Vision Motorsports performed the following ($5,986.28): replaced throttle bodies, alternator diode, new shifter bushings/guides, and repaired the tachometer.

Powered by a number-matching 2.0L flat-six engine that is capable of outputting 140hp at 6,500rpm with 129lb-ft of torque at 4,500rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission operates as it should with 4-wheel disc brakes. Complete with Maintenance Record Booklet, 911E owner’s manual, original pink slip – title, factory dealer supplements, Blaupunkt radio manual, original black plates, date-coded spare wheel, and 53 years of documented service history. A unique opportunity to acquire a very early 911E that has been well documented, routinely serviced, and is presented in its original color combination.
