Options from the factory include US Equipment, Stabilizers Front and Rear, Antenna with Loudspeaker and Noise Suppression, Tinted Glass All Around, ‚Koni‘ Shock Absorbers, and Comfort Equipment.

In accordance with the original warranty booklet, this 911T was first purchased on November 12, 1970, with 27 miles from ALLRED Porsche Audio in Indio, California to the first owner J. P. Jones. Records of Mr. Jone’s ownership are verified through the original registration cards dating back to 1978. The warranty booklet documents services from the date of purchase through 1972 with 26,438 miles, it was serviced by Bob Smith Porsche Audi in Hollywood, California. On June 22, 1985, Mr. Wamboldt purchased the 911 and was from Arcadia, California. During his ownership, the vehicle was driven in its original condition for a few years before he decided to commence a complete restoration. In 1998, before he started the restoration, Mr. Wamboldt consulted with John Paterek of Paterek Brothers Inc. on the factory finishes of different items as his objective was to be as faithful to the original factory condition as possible.

Das Fahrzeug im Detail

During the restoration the body was disassembled, media blasted and repainted 17 years ago in its factory color of Conda Green (2626). The gauges were sent out to be restored by North Hollywood Speedometer. The original wiring harness was used, cleaned, checked for circuit continuity, and rewrapped. The brightwork was re-chromed by Astro Chrome and Polishing. The Fuch alloy wheels were refinished by Weidman’s Wheels.

All the hardware and components were restored per factory specifications. All parts used in the restoration were sourced from Sierra Madre Collection or Stoddard Import Parts. In 2013, the 911T was purchased by the third and current owner who, over the next 7 years, spent time improving the cosmetic and mechanical aspects of the car. On October 10, 2013, Artwerks in Pasadena, California was commissioned to rebuild the transmission. In 2015, the interior was completely reupholstered including carpets, headliner, seats, and rear seats, with houndstooth inserts. According to the current owner, the engine was rebuilt in 2017 and the first 1000-mile service was performed by Pasadena Air Cooled including an oil change and tune up. On December 9, 2021, Rusnak Porsche in Pasadena was commissioned to rebuild the carburetors and flush the fuel lines. The work was performed by Bill Manuel who apprenticed under Vasek Polack, and now is the Head Mechanic for the Classic division at Rusnak Porsche, Pasadena, California. Under 2,500 miles have been added since the engine rebuild. By 2017 the 911T began competing in PCA Street Division concours events.
