The Ultimate Porsche Turbo
WP0AA2962MS480654 was built on June 21st, 1991 and sold new by Precision Imports, the Porsche dealer of Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 15th, 1992 to Dr. Farrar, with 29 miles on the odometer. According to the accompanying original window sticker, this Particular Turbo with options, retailed for just over $100,000, or about $184,000 in today’s dollars. Those options included: US Emissions, Limited Slip Differential, Lumbar Support – Left, Electric Sliding Sunroof, CD-2 CD Player w/Radio, Supple Leather Seats and Yokohama Tires.
For the first decade, the Porsche remained in Oklahoma under original ownership, used sparingly and stored in the winters (sometimes at the Porsche dealer). Regular services throughout this time are documented in the corresponding Warranty and Maintenance booklet. In 2001, the car changed ownership and relocated to Georgia until 2016. Over the years, in addition to frequent oil services, the car has received significant scheduled major services, as well as tasteful mechanical upgrades, including an upgraded KKK turbo (at 18k-miles), Koni/H&R coilover suspension package, uprated headers, muffler and wastegate. Records of services performed since 2001 are filed in the Porsche’s binder.
In the last two years the turbo has resided in Southern California as part of a respected private Porsche collection. WP0AA2962MS480654 is now offered for worldwide purchase and delivery from our Houston, Texas showroom. The Turbo presents beautifully in excellent preserved condition. Largely original paint is verified by meter readings, with clean original three piece Speedline wheels wearing newer Michelin tires. Brake pads, rotors and clutch master are also fairly recently serviced. All glass is original, including the windscreen, while the rear wiper assembly was removed for a clean look, the complete unit accompanies. Under-bonnet, door jamb and engine bay decals remain adhered.
The cabin is equally as nice with minimal signs of use – indicative with the miles. All electronics and lights are in proper working order, along with cold air conditioning. The driver’s airbag is up to date and was replaced on 11/2/2014. Incredibly solid mechanically, power is quite strong with much less turbo lag than prior models. The car shifts smoothly and the brakes have great bite. This is a very easy Porsche to drive in a daily manner, yet well suited for distance touring or PCA display.
In addition to its original window sticker, this outstanding Turbo is complete with all of its original matching books, manuals and supplements in leather folio, Porsche CoA, tool kit, air compressor, unopened work gloves, tire bag, spare tire, jack, tire iron and emergency accessories. This great Porsche has received great admiration by many of us here at DriverSource, we can proudly say that the next owner will have a piece of Porsche history, style, grace, and exclusivity desired by many for decades to come!
