To mark the milestone birthday of the iconic 911 sports car, engineers in Weissach have designed a particularly purist and driving-pleasure-oriented sports car: the 911 S/T. The exclusive anniversary model combines the strengths of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package and 911 GT3 RS models and offers a unique combination of agility and driving dynamics. It combines the naturally aspirated 386 kW (525 hp) four-liter boxer engine from the 911 GT3 RS with a short-ratio manual transmission. Added to this are consistent lightweight construction and a chassis setup optimized for agility and drivability. The 911 S/T weighs just 1,380 kilograms (unladen according to DIN and including all fluids), making it the lightest model in the 992 generation. The optional Heritage Design Package takes its cues from the competition version of the 911 S from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Porsche's GT and motorsport expertise has been incorporated into the design of the anniversary model. This is reflected in particularly light-footed and agile handling, which is designed for maximum driving pleasure on winding country roads. The reduction in rotating masses in the engine, wheels, and brakes ensures particularly spontaneous response. The S/T responds directly and without delay to the driver's commands. Every steering movement, every press of the accelerator or brake pedal is implemented immediately and precisely. Unlike the 911 GT3 RS, the focus of the 911 S/T's development was not on circuit use, but on driving on public roads.
