The vehicle in detail

The paintwork is in beautiful condition, with matching deck lids and factory stampings. The interior has been recently upholstered, including the front seats, door panels, and German charcoal square weave carpeting. Other interior options include a VDM steering wheel with a deluxe horn ring, VDO instrumentation, a rebuilt clock, a factory Blaupunkt Frankfurt AM/FM radio, and two load speakers. The chrome-slotted 4.5” x 15” wheels have been restored and mounted to Vredestein Sprint Classic 165 HR15 tires (date-coded 2025). The entire undercarriage, along with the suspension components, was stripped to bare metal and refinished to factory specifications.

Mechanically, powered by the matching 1600cc air-cooled flat four-cylinder engine (Type 616/16), rated at 95 horsepower, paired to the matching manual four-speed transmission (Type 741) with a four-wheel disc braking system. Maintenance has been performed mainly by TRE Motorsports of North Hollywood, California, from 2002 through 2025. Recent work included replacing the starter motor, the front brake calipers, and rebuilding the Solex P40 carburetors in January 2025.

European Collectibles performed a comprehensive mechanical restoration of the 356SC. The engine received a top-end rebuild with new pistons, cylinders, cylinder heads, rod bearings, pushrod tubes, and spark plugs; all major components were inspected and measured before reassembly and tuning. Johnson’s Alignment performed a four-wheel alignment and corner balance in November of 2025. As a result, this 356 is a very strong-running example, driven over 700 miles, and is well sorted and ready to enjoy!

Offered with the Porsche Kardex, Owner’s Manual, two sets of keys, a sealed copy of The Little Shop of Horrors on DVD, California registration cards from 1975 to 2025, and extensive service documentation.
