2025 Porsche 718 Spyder RS finished in Vanadium Grey Metallic with a Black/Carmine Red leather and Alcantara interior. At Epicar, our profession gives us the pleasure and privilege of driving most of Porsche’s model range, both classic and modern. As a result, we have become somewhat difficult to impress. Despite that, this tastefully specified Spyder RS nearly left us speechless after the very first test drive. Many assume it is simply a GT4 RS without a roof, but beneath the surface Porsche has made several significant changes that make the car noticeably more compliant and relaxed. This is not a pure track tool; rather, it is a car that can be used perfectly well in everyday driving if desired. Shifting into the next gear at 9,000 rpm and hearing the strategically positioned air intakes scream directly behind the driver’s left ear is one of the most exhilarating experiences available in a modern car. The downshifts are equally impressive and deserve a place in the “Downshift Hall of Fame” alongside cars such as the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale and the Lexus LFA. That is how good and entertaining the 718 Spyder RS truly is.
