Launched in 1988, the 964 opened a new chapter in the history of the 911. Porsche announced that nearly 85% of its parts were new. It was equipped with a 3.6-liter flat-six engine, ABS, and power steering. The Targa version combines a fixed roll bar with a removable roof panel. It allows for open-air driving without compromising the 911’s signature silhouette.
This vehicle was delivered new on March 19, 1991, by the Porsche dealership in Edison, New Jersey. It was initially serviced through that dealership network, then in France at the Porsche Center Saint-Germain.
This Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Targa is in excellent cosmetic condition and remains in its original state. Its color combination is rare on the current market.
The body is sound and free of corrosion; the paint is superb, well-applied, and flawless (except on the front bumper). The black Targa roof is in good condition, watertight, and well-maintained.
The interior is well-maintained. The beige leather on the seats, door panels, and rear bench has not faded and is in good condition. The sport seats feature power adjustments. The black dashboard is in good condition. The original labels are still present. The original tool kit is included with the car.
⚙️ The 3.6-liter flat-six engine underwent a head gasket repair in 2024. The car will be sold after a service. The 5-speed manual transmission operates smoothly. Handling is solid, and the car’s overall performance is very good.
