Our 356 B T6 cabriolet was assembled by Reutter, the historic coachbuilder of Porsche whose workshops, located next to the brand’s in Zuffenhausen, produced the majority of 356 coupe and cabriolet bodies between 1950 and 1963.
Its chassis number 155742 indicates it is one of the early 356 B T6 cabriolets. In fact, it falls at the beginning of the production range attributed to Reutter cabriolets, ranging from 155601 to 158700, totaling 3099 units. It was produced in late 1961 and first registered on March 15, 1962 in the United States.
It is a 60 hp version confirmed by the engine code 616/1. The engine’s three matching case numbers are identical: 876. The engine number is P*607177*, corresponding to late 1961 production. Its gearbox, number 59824, is a 741 “dual mount”, the most advanced of its generation, with reinforced synchronizations and double rear mounting, ensuring reliability and comfort. The engine/gearbox combination perfectly matches its factory specifications.
The Ivory combination, paint code 6204, with red leather interior and carpet, offers a contrast that enhances both the body and the cabin!
It underwent a comprehensive restoration several years ago; its condition and driving experience will delight even the most discerning enthusiasts.
