The Roadster came to Europe in 2013 via the UK after which it underwent a complete restoration. The car was repainted in its original Ruby Red; the mechanics were addressed and completely overhauled. The current owner bought the car when the restoration was already in a late stage and had the interior trim finished by another specialist; called De Geet.
This 75hp powerful example is a beautiful classic that can be driven open or closed thanks to its hardtop. The limited production numbers, light bodywork combined with the powerful engine and rare hardtop make this Roadster a unique & interesting 356!
Today the car has a Belgian registration.
The Roadster
In ’54 the first special open Porsche came on the market called Speedster. In 1958 it was replaced by the more civilized Convertible D, which had a larger windshield and side windows that could be opened and closed.
With the launch of the 356 B in ’59, the car again received a different windshield and 15″ wheels. Along with different styling, the 1,582cc engine came as standard with a choice of 3 performance levels 60; 75 and 90hp. It was also renamed the Roadster.
The 356 B drives a lot better and offers a lot more comfort compared to the previous models and remains to this day a great way to experience Porsche standards. Fast, reliable and robust!
