The vehicle in detail

When the restoration began, this 356 was completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal. All necessary rust repair and panel replacement was performed. The car was sealed, primed, prepared, and finished in Stone Grey. The California Central-Valley-based restoration ensemble reassembled the car with all new consumables, including seals, weather stripping, and fresh hardware. All exterior chrome is fresh.7

The engine installed is a 1958 replacement case that received the following during its full rebuild: a new flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, head studs, valves, springs, retainers, 356C crankshaft, rod and main bearings, billet street-grind camshaft, cam drive gear, 86mm 9.2:1 hypereutectic piston set in biral cylinders, resurfaced heads, oil pump repair, reconditioned rods, and resurfaced lifters. The modifications yielded a modest displacement increase to 1,720cc- but added potency.

A Redline fuel management system controls the manifold-mounted fuel injectors.

The engine mates to a refreshed, number-matching transaxle.

The suspension system was comprehensively overhauled, including cosmetic refurbishment of all surface finishes, new Koni dampers, a new brake master cylinder, rebuilt brake calipers with new pistons and crossover lines, and new rotors.

The interior was fully refinished in Brown with corduroy inserts and oatmeal square weave carpet. 3 point shoulder harnesses have been installed for added peace of mind, and the interior is rounded out by a beautiful MOMO INDY wooden steering wheel mounted to a quick-release hub for ease of entering and exiting the car.

Custom, unobtrusive, A/C vents were added to the interior and the implemented R134 A/C is wonderful comfort in a car that never had A/C from the factory.

Electrically the car remains a 6-volt example- with the exception of a separate 12-volt harness created to handle the Redline Electronic Fuel Injection, fuel pump, air conditioning, electric antenna, windshield washer motor, new Bluetooth radio, and the 12V-90 Amp alternator. The 12-volt wiring harness schematics are included. The compressor mount, electronic crank trigger, and pulley were made for this car. A fuel-pressure gauge is mounted in the engine compartment.

This car also features a safety modification in the form of a decklid-mounted third brake light.

This Porsche 356C has undergone a painstaking restoration that has culminated in a 356 that is remarkably comfortable by modern standards.

The addition of fuel injection and a big bore kit makes the car start, run, and drive effortlessly in nearly all conditions; added A/C brings outstanding comfort in warm or humid weather. Detailed invoices of the interior restoration process are included in the sale.

If you are looking for a 356 that is freshly restored but modernized to the point where it can be used for road trips, extended summer drives, or simply daily use as a comfortable classic, this is a must-consider example.
