Enthusiasts have, of course, spotted it long ago: our version is the relatively rare GTS model. What stands out are the GTS bumpers and the Sport Design Package. It makes the white Porsche just a touch sleeker and tougher. Moreover, the black components—including the diffuser—contrast brilliantly with the rest of the bodywork. The same can be said about the dark layout of the front and rear light units and, of course, the 20-inch Carrera S Design wheels. The latter are minimalist enough to clearly reveal the bright red brake calipers behind them. The perforated discs and the flat Michelin tires surrounding them also point to extreme sports car qualities. The dual central exhaust has been a hallmark of this model since the very first generation of the Boxster/Cayman. Today, they symbolize more boxer power than ever.
Equipment
A young Porsche without a PDK transmission is currently highly exceptional. And for good reason: no driver can shift the manual version faster than the automatic can race through its 7 gears. But there’s more than just a dual-clutch transmission on board: the pure Alcantara sports steering wheel, the analog gauges feature a black background, beautifully in sync with the rest of the black leather/Alcantara interior package with black/anthracite stitching. And what else? Sport bucket seats, Full Map Navigation, Apple CarPlay including voice control, the Hi-Fi speaker system (10 speakers), rear parking sensors; it’s all there. The combination of black leather upholstery and an aluminum interior finish creates a high-tech atmosphere inside the Cayman GTS. In most sports cars, you just sit down, but this one you slip into. Like a cocoon that perfectly envelops your body. What more could you ask for…? Furthermore, this Cayman is equipped with, among other things: a sports exhaust system, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) including a mechanical rear-axle limited-slip differential, Dynamic Engine Mounts (PADM), and the 20 mm lowered Sport chassis, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).
Technology
Experience! That’s exactly what you get in this beautiful Porsche. The cozy cabin offers plenty of room for big smiles. Ready for pure enjoyment? In the GTS, the 4-cylinder boxer engine—cooled by an additional water cooler—delivers a maximum output of no less than 366 hp. As a result, the compact sports coupe needs only a 2.5-liter engine to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. All that power is sent to the rear axle, which immediately explains the playful character of this seriously fast Cayman. Just how fast, exactly? It’s not until 290 km/h that air resistance overpowers the boxer engine’s rear-wheel drive. The legendary Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans’ Circuit de la Sarthe can thus be covered at breakneck speed. The twisty section is just as much fun: the Porsche Cayman GTS sticks to the asphalt as if it were coated in Michelin Super Glue, and the chassis is as thrilling as it is balanced, thanks in part to the Porsche Active Drivetrain Mount (PADM). You’d almost want to cover it with sponsor stickers, but ultimately, the white GT body is far too beautiful for that. Discover it at Vehikel.
