Over the years, this Targa has undergone an extensive overhaul: In addition to various restoration work, the orange original paintwork of the 911 in light yellow was completely renewed. According to information from the current owner, the Porsche does not have any serious defects apart from a stone chip in the headlight glass. The seller excludes an accident in his holding period. All chrome elements such as the window frames, headlight surrounds and the bumper guards at the rear are in good and shiny condition. The Targa bar, which is made of stainless steel, is also in good shape. The so-called soft window of the Porsche Targas, which was exchanged for the original rear window in the course of the conversion work (see Porsche delivery certificate), is undamaged: there are no signs of damage to the plastic window or tears in the fabric.
The exterior appearance is provided by original Porsche Fuchs rims in chrome/yellow, on which Toyo tires with a sufficient profile are fitted. The brakes can be attested to be in good condition – no inconsistencies can be found in the area of the chassis either.
The black imitation leather seats of the Porsche are freshly upholstered: apart from a few signs of wear and tear in the interior of the 911, which are commensurate with age, apparently no defects can be found. The sports car's four-spoke leather steering wheel is filigree: like the gear knob, it shows no major signs of wear. The original Porsche radio gave way to a modern foldable radio, the design of which fits well into the interior. Audio components from the manufacturer Phoenix Gold were installed under the front hood for better music playback, which are also kept in the body color. The function of the soft window is flawless – it can be opened and closed without any problems.
The Porsche 911 Targa has 22,720 miles on the clock – which would correspond to a mileage of around 36,600 kilometers. There is no proof of this mileage, so this mileage counts as read. The functionality of all instruments in the interior of the sports car is given.
According to statements by the current owner, the technology of the Porsche is flawless: As mentioned at the beginning, the 2.0-liter engine – with which this 911 was originally delivered – was exchanged over the years for an original Porsche 2.2 E engine (911 /01). That's why the six-cylinder boxer engine now delivers 155 hp from a displacement of 2.2 liters. The 5-speed middle shift from the manufacturer ZF can be operated cleanly, defects in the entire technology of this Targa cannot be found. The Porsche was serviced in 2021, and the recent repairs included disassembling, cleaning and readjusting the carburetor. According to the seller, the engine and transmission are dry. The underbody is original, which is why there are a few signs of wear here and there. Overall, however, the underside of this Porsche 911 Targa is in good condition for its age.
