In this auction you have the opportunity to bid on a great, converted Porsche 3.0 SC. This 1980 Porsche 911SC Coupé was first registered by the first owner in May 1980 in Stuttgart, Germany. The second owner imported the Porsche to New Jersey in the USA until the third and current owner imported the car to Austria in 2012. So the 11er with the VIN 91A0131555 is currently in third hands. The car has a current MOT until May 2024, a valid class M1 registration for historic passenger cars. Two keys and a report are available. From 2013 onwards around €30,000 has been invested in customizing the vehicle. In 2021, another €14,000 has also been invested. In the course of this, the underbody was also redone and a complete technical revision was carried out.
Due to its age, the body received a complete paint job in 2011 and shines in Grand Prix White. The sides are decorated with black decor with "Porsche" lettering. What is special about this Porsche is the large turbo rear wing and the turbo bonnet, which were retrofitted to give the Porsche an even sportier look. According to the seller, the car had no visible previous damage when it was purchased and has been in his possession without any accidents.
The black decorative stripes are rounded off by black 17-inch FISKE Motorsport lightweight wheels. The rims are fitted with Yokohama tires which the seller says are new. A complete, PU-mounted, Bilstein sports suspension was installed for better handling. The anti-roll bars are adjustable on both the front and rear axles. According to the seller, the brakes are in like-new condition, as are the tyres.
Inside the Porsche there are two leather Sparco bucket seats with five-point belts. The dashboard and the entire rear area, which is separated from the driver's cabin by a roll cage, are covered with Alcantara. The three-spoke leather steering wheel from Sparco, in combination with a Momo gear knob, ensure a puristic driving experience. As an option, this Porsche is equipped with electric windows.
Behind the steering wheel are the five round instruments with km/h speedometer typical of Porsche. The odometer reading is 164,715 kilometers. This can be traced back to the partially maintained checkbook, invoices and TÜV documents. According to the seller, the instruments are all functional.
The six-cylinder engine was completely rebuilt by the seller. The air-cooled 3.0 liter engine now has 3.2 liters and a maximum output of almost 275 hp. The engine is coupled to a Porsche 915 gearbox with a magnesium housing. A stainless steel exhaust system including a heat exchanger ensures a rich sound. A complete technical revision of the vehicle was carried out in 2021. The last service was in March 2022.
According to the seller, the underbody has also been revised and is therefore in very good condition.
In this auction you now have the opportunity to bid for an air-cooled Porsche from the early 1980s with motorsport flair. Sports seats with a five-point belt and turbo look, paired with a sports chassis ensure maximum driving pleasure. So for everyone who doesn't like anything too puristic and doesn't want to own a museum piece, this Porsche is just the right fun vehicle.
The roll cage is a real highlight and gives the Porsche motorsport feeling at its finest!
