This 1977 Carrera 3.0 Coupe has been evaluated by the Carrera 3.0 Global Registry and is a strong cosmetic example finished in the Copper Brown Metallic over Lobster interior combination (Lobster was only available for the 1977 model year). This interior is a very rare find in present day.
The exterior has been fully refinished to a high standard with consistent panel gaps and a heavy clearcoat application.
The original interior has been carefully reconditioned while retaining its authenticity and period character.
Mechanically, the car starts easily, shows strong oil pressure, has no visible oil leaks at the time of inspection, and drives with the characteristic torque and responsiveness expected from a healthy 930/02 engine.
The rebuilt 915 transmission shifts cleanly through the gears.
The current owner is a long-time Porsche enthusiast of more than 50 years who maintains a climate-controlled storage facility. His cars are well cared for and have not been left outside or driven in inclement weather.
Although documentation from earlier ownership is limited. What is clear from the physical condition, the quality of the 2020 refresh work, and the strong driving impression is that this is a well-presented, low-use example of a Carrera 3.0. It is not a concours trailer queen, but a carefully kept driver that should provide enjoyable ownership with normal maintenance.
As with any 50-year-old air-cooled 911, prospective buyers are strongly encouraged to inspect the car in person. The Carrera 3.0 Registry would give this car a rating of condition 2. With 1 being concours.
