The interior is in good condition. The car is equipped with a short-shift transmission that shifts precisely, and all electrical functions, heating, and lighting work properly.
The chassis is in very good condition. The body is straight, but the paint shows several imperfections and a few blisters, so a cosmetic refresh may be considered in the future.
Inspected in June 2026. The only issue noted was a rubber bush on the stabilizer bar.
A genuine and technically excellent Carrera 3.0, a rare model with a rebuilt powertrain and outstanding handling.
Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 – 1977
Chassis number: 9117600782
Engine number: 6671572
The Carrera 3.0 holds a very special place in the history of the Porsche 911, as it combined elements of two of the most legendary Porsche 911s: the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS and the 1974 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0. This is one of only 3,687 Carrera 3.0s produced and one of 1,471 coupes built in the 1977 model year.
The Carrera 3.0 engine is essentially the 2993 cm³ 911 Turbo engine, but without the turbocharger. In addition, the lighter 6-bolt flywheel and crankshaft from the 2.7 RS were installed. To compensate for the 930’s lack of turbo boost, Porsche increased the compression ratio, giving the three-liter Carrera an impressive 200 pk and 255 Nm of torque at 4,200 t/min. This also explains why the Carrera 3.0’s performance closely resembles that of the 2.7 RS. Although it is often referred to as the tamed version of the original 2.7 RS with 210 pk, it actually achieved even better results in various tests: from 0 to 100 km/h, the Carrera 3.0 was one-tenth of a second faster (6.3 s), and from 0 to 180 km/h, it was even two-tenths of a second faster.
This was due to the improved torque, as the 2.7 RS did not reach the same torque level until a much higher 5,100 rpm. A direct comparison of the power curves explained the phenomenon: up to 5,000 rpm, the three-liter engine delivers significantly more power than the 2.7 RS.
The optimized torque was also evident in another test: the Carrera 3.0 was more than 3 seconds faster from 25 to 100 miles per hour than the 2.7 RS and the 2.7 Carrera. And all this with a car that was at least 45 kg heavier due to the extra sound insulation.
This Carrera 3.0 was delivered new in France and has been in Belgium since 2017.
In 2016–2017, the engine and transmission were completely overhauled. Photos and invoices are available. The odometer was also reset to 0 km at that time. Since the overhaul, the car has been driven 9,200 km.
There is a document dated 02/11/2017 showing that the odometer reading was 32,779 km at that time.
The original color was black. Black was actually quite rare in the 1970s. The engine bay is still black.
Engine number 6671572 falls within the correct range for a 1977 model year Carrera 3.0.
The car features an electric sunroof, hinged rear side windows (a rare option), a center console, a five-speed manual transmission, and period-correct 7×15 and 8×15 Fuchs wheels.
The interior is in excellent condition. The car is equipped with a precise-shifting short-shift lever, and all electrical functions, heating, and lighting work properly.
The body is straight, and the chassis is in very good condition. The paint shows signs of wear and several imperfections, including a few blisters on a headlight bezel and at the bottom of the windshield. A cosmetic refresh could be considered, but the car still looks great.
Inspected in June 2026. The only comment concerned a rubber bush on the stabilizer bar.
