The car retains original paint throughout, a rare and increasingly difficult attribute to find in comparable examples. Its cosmetic integrity is matched by significant mechanical investment over the past several years, totaling approximately $35,000 in service and refurbishment within the last four years and around 3,000 miles.
A major highlight is the fully reworked suspension system. The car has been upgraded with KW V3 coilovers, complemented by turbo tie rods, upgraded hollow torsion bars, refreshed bushings, spring plates, and a bump steer kit. Additional work includes control arm replacement, sway bar end links, brake lines, and a recent four wheel alignment. The result is a car that feels planted, responsive, yet capable for frequent use around town.
Engine and mechanical servicing has been carried out with equal attention. Recent work includes replacement of the lower valve cover gaskets, oil and filter service, oil line replacement, wheel bearing adjustment, and installation of a Fabspeed Maxflow exhaust system. Supporting maintenance over the past several years includes drive belts, spark plugs, and clutch replacement.
In March 2025, the interior was completely reimagined by Sonderwerks in Cornelius, North Carolina. The cabin was stripped and retrimmed using high quality materials, featuring bespoke RS style door cards with pull straps, a redesigned armrest, retrimmed rear panels, and a refinished rear parcel shelf. All four seats were reconstructed and finished in black leather with pepita inserts, complemented by coordinated leatherwork throughout the cabin. Approximately 85 hours of expert craftsmanship were invested, resulting in a refined, cohesive interior that feels both period correct and subtly elevated.
