A very rare 911 Carrera Targa anniversary model, produced to commemorate the 250,000th Porsche manufactured for the 1988 model year.
A total of only 875 units were produced as coupes, Targas, and convertibles. This makes it one of the rarest special-edition models.
According to Porsche, only 205 convertibles were built worldwide. This special edition is distinguished by its Diamond Blue Metallic paint, a unique silver-blue leather interior, and Ferry Porsche’s signature embroidered on the headrests.
This car was originally delivered to the U.S. and has been back in Germany since 2014; it is in exceptionally good original condition with only 70,066 km on the odometer.
Additional original features include a shortened shift travel, the omission of the model designation on the hood, wheel hub caps painted to match the body color, and, of course, the superior G-50 transmission, which shifts wonderfully in conjunction with the shortened shift travel.
The Targa is very well documented, complete with the original owner’s manual and service booklet, as well as numerous maintenance invoices from the U.S., which account for the low mileage.
The rear bumper, lighting, and speedometer have been converted to German standards.
The Targa has an older protective wrap on the front end, so the paint is in first-class condition. Except for a thin and even repaint on the rear left side panel, the car is entirely in its original paint.
The interior is also in very well-maintained condition, consistent with the low mileage.
A special edition model of this quality rarely comes onto the market.
