The vehicle:
In the 1970 model year, only 1,734 units of the 2.2 S coupé were built, of which our vehicle in the beautiful Albert blue color (code 1818) is the 1,275 unit. The Porsche birth certificate available to us confirms the first delivery on April 2, 1970 to Verona, Italy. The Porsche was allowed to stay in Italy for the first 26 years of its life.
In October 1996, Dr. P. Koolen from the Netherlands drove the vehicle in Brescia. In the months that followed, he had the somewhat outdated 911 extensively overhauled and overhauled, both technically and visually. From this time in the late 90s / early 2000s there are numerous documents and documents, such as invoices, documents and pictures.
In 1997, with a mileage of approx. 97,000 km, the engine of the vehicle was completely dismantled, overhauled and rebuilt. Invoices and original photos are also available for this, also as slide images. The work was carried out by the renowned Porsche specialist Car Care BV in Soest. A short time later, Dr. Koolen partially restore the body of the 2.2 S at Piet Kraan in Aalsmeer. This work is also extensively documented.
Now that the Porsche was once again in excellent condition, both optically and technically, the current owner bought the vehicle in the Netherlands in December 2003 and registered it in Germany for the first time. The 2.2 S has now been in the same hands for almost 20 years and has been regularly moved, cared for and serviced since then. The vehicle was technically looked after over the years by Rennsport Porsche Horst Derkum in Bergisch Gladbach and by Perfect Car in Cologne.
In the recent past, the owner also had the entire interior refurbished and renewed. Carpets, headlining, window rubbers and leather steering wheel were restored in 2017, the Fuchs rims were completely refurbished a year later. Also in 2018, some components were repainted for cosmetic reasons, so that the 2.2 S then received the certificate grade 2+. A state that he has maintained to this day.
In summary, we can say with certainty that this 2.2 S will bring the greatest joy to its new owner. The vehicle is the ideal and reliable driver, whether for spontaneous short trips into the countryside, for a city trip over the weekend or for a multi-day trip or rally. The 2.2 S cuts a perfect figure at every opportunity, is tailor-made for every need and every occasion – and incidentally also a real design style icon!
Of course, the vehicle will get a new HU before sale, as well as a fresh service, so that nothing stands in the way of the next exit!
