Porsche Weissach Edition — 911 SC 3.0 Weissach Edition, Model Year 1980 Series
This restoration required approximately 350 hours of bodywork and approximately 350 hours of mechanical work.
To promote the recently opened special requests department and to honor the successes in motorsport as well as the development of the new development center in Weissach, this special model was given the name “911 SC Weissach.” It was identified by equipment option number M439. A total of 400 cars of this special series were built. Half of the vehicles left the factory in metallic black, while the other half were painted in metallic platinum.
The Weissach Edition special models were richly equipped. All vehicles had a front spoiler and a rear spoiler with integrated fog lights in the standard front apron. The rear spoiler was taken from the 911 Turbo 3.0 and slightly modified. The equipment was completed with Bilstein shock absorbers, a passenger-side exterior mirror, an electrically operated sunroof, as well as an electric antenna and four speakers for the radio.
In addition, the 15-inch Fuchs wheels with a wheel star painted in metallic platinum were standard equipment. The combination of these special wheels with the spoilers gave the car a sporty look without being too aggressive.
For the interior, the then-new Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur created a high-quality cabin combining red, light gray, and black. The Turbo sport seats were covered in Doric gray leather with a perforated center strip and burgundy piping. The piping color was also used in the vehicle’s carpeting. Furthermore, all the interior trim parts were richly covered in leather. The perforated black artificial leather headliner blended harmoniously into the sporty yet refined interior of this extraordinary 911.
